These are pages from a visual encyclopedia called the CODEX SERAPHINIANUS which was written in an indecipherable language by Luigi Seraphini between 1976-78 and describes in great detail the many twists and turns of an alternate world.

Patrick Woodroffe !

This is guy is just so good. Working within genres known for their many pitfalls into tired, lame cliches, Woodroffe combines versatility, inventiveness and an almost schizophrenic attention to detail that is totally daunting. He has a gargantuan amount of work and this is really a very miniscule selection. I grew up with the book above, MYTHOPOEIKON. It is my Dad's. Sort of. I'm "borrowing" it.
